VIETROADIE QUANT SPX Levels Decoder
Practice tool — no live levels, no trade signals ← Back to Education

The level tells you where to look. Not what happens when price gets there.

A working page for reading SPX structure the way you'd read it live — pivots, gamma clusters, voids, expected-move rails, ATR ladders and the EMA ribbon. Pick a structure, decide how price behaves at it, then check the reaction against the desk's internals stack: Weighted S&P Sectors A/D for breadth, IceBerg TICK for tape quality, and the Command Deck for trend and conviction. Same line, different reactions, different reads.

Try it

Choose the structure. Drag PRICE above or below the line — or click a zone, or use the arrow keys once it's focused. Then pick the specific behavior to see the read, and set the internals stack underneath to see whether the desk's tools confirm or contradict it.

What each tool is actually telling you.

The states in the stack come straight from the indicator guides. These are the definitions behind them, so the labels mean the same thing here as they do on your chart.

    Breadth

    Weighted S&P Sectors A/D
    Weighted vs unweighted
Weighted scales each of the eleven sector ETFs by its S&P weight; unweighted gives every sector equal influence. Both measure from the daily open, so overnight gaps don't distort the session read.
    Confirm
Bullish confirm is both smoothed values above zero; bearish confirm is both below. Agreement means size and breadth are participating together.
    Divergence
Bullish divergence is weighted above unweighted while weighted is positive — the larger sectors are carrying it. Bearish divergence is the inverse. A gap between the lines means sector size and breadth are telling different stories.
    Momentum colour
Magenta bars mean the weighted value is rising versus the prior bar; yellow means falling.

    Tape

    IceBerg TICK
    What it measures
How often NYSE or NASDAQ TICK has traded above or below zero across the lookback — a breadth and tape-quality measure, not a standalone system.
    Context states
Bull trend needs at least 70% of valid bars above zero and no more than 30% below. Bear trend is the inverse. Chop is smoothed net bias inside ±10%; anything else is mixed.
    Dots vs arrows
The green dot (cross back above the lower interest line) and red dot (cross back below the upper interest line) are the snap-back signals. Zero-cross arrows are context only and don't replace the dots.
    Session
RTH filtering runs 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM Eastern.

    Trend

    VietRoadie Command Deck
    Ribbon
Fast, pivot, slow and long-term EMAs establish structure. Pivot bias and long-term trend bias colour the direction; conviction is bullish while the fast conviction EMA sits at or above the slow one.
    ATR ladder
Built off the reference close for the selected trading type — scalp uses 4 hours, day uses 1 day, multiday 1 week, swing 1 month. It maps trigger levels, the .382/.500/.618/.786 retracements, ±1 ATR and optional extensions.
    Golden pocket
The fill between the .618 and .786 levels — where a pullback either resumes the trend or gives it up.
    Compression
Bollinger width measured against ATR thresholds. Compression is an environment condition: wait for directional confirmation from the ribbon and levels rather than treating a release as a signal by itself.

Levels frame the question. Behavior supplies the answer.

    01

    Reach

Nothing happens from across the screen. A level does no work until price actually trades into it.

    02

    Confirm

A single wick isn't proof of anything. Look for trade and time held after the first touch before you trust the reaction.

    03

    Corroborate

A reaction with breadth, tape and trend behind it is a different trade from the same reaction with the internals pointing the other way.

    04

    Revise

The read is conditional, not fixed. When the reaction changes, the working plan changes with it.
